SIMULATION

                                                                      SIMULATION

Simulation is a representation of the functioning of a system. By simulation, a model may be installed with unlimited variations, producing complex structures. Theseabilities allow analysis and understanding of how individual elements interact and affect the simulated environment. A simulation may be performed through solving a set of Physical model, equations, Staged practice, Game or Computer graphics model.Simulation are simplification of the reality because they include only a few real world factors and are only as good as their underlying assumptions.Simulation can be applied on testing, Training, Missions Rehearsal, Operational Planning, Life Cycle Management, Support to the Conduct of Operations.

Different Types of Simulation
  • Live simulations     - Real People operate in the real world
  • Virtual simulations - Real people operate in synthetic world
  • Constructive simulations- Simulated substances operate in synthetic worlds
  • Undefined Simulations-Simulated units are subjected to real world environments
  • Advanced computer programs can simulate atomic reactions, chemical reactions, weather conditions, even biological processes.
  • Healthcare simulation to improve the safety, effectiveness, and efficiency of healthcare services.

Simulations are also used to test new thesis. After creating causal relationships, the theorist can compile the relationships in the form of a computer programming. If the program then act in the same way as the realistic process, then proposed relationships are correct. A computer simulation (or "sim") is an attempt to model a real-life or hypothetical situation on a computer so that it can be studied to see how the system will work. By changing values in the simulation, predictions may be made about the conduct of the system. It is a mechanism to virtually investigate the behavior of the system under study.

Computer simulation is often used as an adjunct to or substitution for modeling systems for which simple closed form analytic solutions are not workable. There are different types of computer simulation; the common aspect they all share is the attempt to generate a sample of representative scenarios for a model in which a complete enumeration of all possible states would be prohibitive. Several software packages available for running computer-based simulation modeling that makes all the modeling almost effortless.Modern usage of the term "computer simulation" may encompass virtually any computer-based representation.

Simulation of the system can be done at many different levels of the fidelity so that whereas one reader will think of physics-based models and results, less detailed output as in a first in first out network. Models are developed to provide answer at given abstraction level. The kind of output you need depends on the type of the model you will employ.

ADVANTAGES OF SIMULATION LEARNING
  • For  easily attainable learning opportunities
  • The freedom to make errors and to learn from them
  • The learning practice can be personalized
  • Detailed feedback and evaluation
