Management Systems
   Management Systems are systematic frameworks designed to manage an organization's policies, procedures and promote continual improvement within. The implementation of a proven and effective Management System can help a business to improve performance, manage risk and promote stakeholder confidence.Management is 'the guidance and control of action', and a system is defined as a 'set of components interconnected for a purpose'. This suggests that the 'interconnection' has been planned for a specific reason, and that the outcome would not be attaining without the 'interconnection'. A business management system is: 'The structure processes and resources needed to establish an organization’s policy and objectives and to achieve those objectives.

Different types of Management systems
Traditionally, separate management systems were developed to address issues such as environment, quality, safety and health, human resources, information technology, finance and data protection. Other aspects of running an organization which need to be managed include corporate social responsibility, risk management, data security, and business continuity. Reputation management, sustainability, and brand management are given more prestige nowadays, and supply chain management has its own laws, with university order and chairs now well accepted.
A management information system (MIS) is a computer-based system that provides the information necessary to manage an organization efficiently. An MIS should be developed to increase communication among the employees, giving an objective system for recording information and support the organization's strategic goals and route. MIS are of four types that will be introduced in ascending order of sophistication. Systems of Transaction Processing, Management info system, System for Decision Support, Expert systems and Artificial intelligence.Network management and database management can be viewed as part of systems management or they may be viewed as co-equal parts of a total information system.
An Environmental Management System (EMS) is a framework that helps a company achieves its environmental goals through consistent control of its working. The assumption is that this increased control will improve the environmental performance of the company. This itself does not dictate a level of environmental performance that must be achieved each company's EMS is tailored to the company's business and goals.An Environmental Management System (EMS) is a set of processes and practices that enable an organization to reduce its environmental impacts and increase its operating efficiency.An EMS can also help address non-regulated problems, such as energy conservation, and can assist stronger operational control and employee stewardship.Basic Elements of an EMS are Reviewing the company's environmentalgoals,Analyzing its environmental impacts and legal necessity, Setting environmental objectives and targets to reduce environmental impacts and comply with legal requirements, initiate programs to meet these objectives and targets,Monitoring and measuring progress in achieving the objectives, Ensuring employees' environmental apprehension and competence, Reviewing progress of the EMS and making improvements.
Management systems purpose and benefits

A management system should be a way to

·         Achieve business objectives
·         increase capability of current operations and the likely impact of change
·         communicate knowledge
·         demonstrate compliance establish 'best practice'
·         ensure consistency
·         set priorities
·         change behavior
