ASSESSMENT TECHNOLOGY
Technology is generally defined as "science or knowledge applied to a specific reason." Technology assessment has been defined as a form of policy research that examines short- and long-term consequences of the application of technology. The objective of technology assessment was said to be to provide policy makers with information on policy alternatives.A systemwide technology initiative requires a deep investment of time and service. Technology judgment provides a response loop to inform course corrections and allows leaders to measure return on investment, while place rating of lecturers, students and leaders assist track the system’s progress toward meeting the ISTE norms guidelines. Ongoing assessments and analysis provide a holistic picture of the initiative’s success and help administrators pinpoint areas of weakness that need to be addressed.To accurately assess and evaluate technology use leaders should have detailed goals and rhythmical for measuring success as well as a process for applying the findings through a continuous response loop. Each measurement should give a clear motivation and be used to ensure continual improvement and progress toward the program’s goals.When determining whether assessments and evaluations are successful in practice, ask the below questions:
- To what range is student assessment practices and achievement because of technology?
- Are results for calculating the technology’s effects on student learning built into the system?
- Do teachers need evaluated to learn the effective use of technology?
- Did teaching staff achieving their results outlined in their professional development plans?
Technology education is the school subject in which students learn to design and make products that are useful to everyone. It helps students to know about powerful process of designing; a process in which new ideas are conceived and taken from the mind's eye into the made world. It requires creativity and problem-solving abilities.
It develops hand-eye coordination in the precise use of tools and materials. It promotes the capability to take decisions, plan a action and execute it out working as an individual or as a member of a group. It introduces other technologies to students. Technology education is concerned with developing students' efficiency. This needs students to merge their designing skills with knowledge, skill and grasp in order to design and make products.
Various types and ideas of technology assessment
The following types of concepts of TA are those that are most visible and done. There are number TA forms that are only proposed as concepts in the literature or are the label used by a particular TA institution.
- Parliamentary TA (PTA): TA activities whose addressee is a parliament. PTA is done directly by members of those parliaments or on their behalf of related TA institutions or by organizations not directly linked to a Parliament.
- Expert TA / Classical TA / Traditional TA: TA activities carried out by technical expert.
- Participatory TA (pTA): TA activities which actively, systematically and methodologically involve various kinds of social actors as assessors.
- Constructive TA (CTA): CTA is not influenced in academic practices by assessing the impacts of technology but CTA wants to focus on social issues around technology by influencing design practices.
- Discursive TA / Argumentative TA: This type of TA wants to deepen the political and normative debate about science, technology and society. This type of TA focuses to clarify and bring under public and political scrutiny the normative assumptions and visions that drive the actors who are socially shaping science and technology. But argumentative TA deals with both broader impacts of science and technology and the fundamental normative question along with the side effects of technological change, but
- Health TA (HTA): A specialized type of expert TA informing policy makers about efficacy, safety and cost effectiveness issues of pharmaceuticals and medical treatments, see health technology assessment.
